My how you've grown!

They grow so quickly don't they? Molly Elizabeth came out of the womb 2 weeks ago yesterday at 7lbs and 5oz. A week later she had shot up to 8lbs. The midwife came round yesterday and weighed her and she is up to 9lbs 4oz. What a monster! I am encouraged by the fact that she has actually grown in length as well, so we are not bringing up another member of Tony Blair's fat nation at least. She is now out of the first range of clothes we bought her that are supposed to last several weeks.

As I write this, it is the last day of Daddy's paternity leave, and he is dreading going back to work. It seems somewhat fitting that it is pouring with rain here today, after 2 weeks of glorious sunshine, barbeques every night and outdoor dining for every meal, the summer seems to be over (which isn't a bad thing for England's cricket prospects of course!) Molly has discovered the "dummy" this week (Pacifier for the US readership) and is thoroughly enjoying it, as are both her parents. However, we are being careful to just use it in short bursts of course, we wouldn't want her developing an addiciton at such an early age. She does have an enormously powerful sucking mechanism though.

Molly continues to develop her skills, she has now been out for brunch with Mummy & Daddy, and has had her first "pint" in the beer garden of the local pub with Daddy and Uncle James. She is very mature like that. Several friends are coming to visit today, so she is dressed up in all her finery, and her Granny Kellett is coming to stay tonight to help Mummy through the next few days....

More news on that later.
